11/27, Class 11 - Critique and Sequencing Exercise

This week we reviewed everyone's new work, discussed ideas for final projects and also did a sequencing exercise. 

HOMEWORK

For NEXT WEEK, 12/4

• For those of you that did not fully complete the 2 ideas for your final post to your blog please make sure you update your blog with all the information required (see previous post.)
• 20 new prints due in class
• A written proposal for how you will print, bind and format your book is due via a post to your class blog. Post to your blog:
• 3-6 sentence description of the content of the book
• At least 3 images showing how your book will be printed, constructed, bound and presented. 3+ images could be:
• Sketches for book construction
• Images of another book with similar construction

12/18, Class 14 - FINAL BOOK PROJECT DUE

• Present and critique finished books
• ALSO DUE:
• 5 documentation images of the physical book (see handout for details)
• Drive or Digital File Transfer with All Class Assignments (see handout for details)

SUBMITTING DIGITAL FILES LATE WILL RESULT IN LOSS OF 5 POINTS TO FINAL PROJECT GRADE.

11/20, Class 10 - Crit and Presentations

This week we had a critique of new work and make-up oral presentations. 

HOMEWORK

• From now until the last week of class the weekly assignment is to make and bring in prints of 20 new photos each week. 
• Next week (11/27) also due to your blog are Two Ideas for your final book project. Post to your blog:
• Written description
• 3-6 sentences PER IDEA
• Describe what the work you would like to create:
• Subject matter
• Form
• Book format/Presentation
• 6 visual aids/reference images - 3 PER IDEA. Visual aids could be:
• Images you’ve shot that you want to include
• Sketches for photos or book
• Mood board/inspiration

11/6, Class 8 - Midterm Exam and Critique

This week we took our midterm exam and did our first critique / discussion of prints of student work and the portrait assignment.

HOMEWORK

Your oral presentations are due in class next week, 11/13. Please come to class prepared to give your presentation with all required materials including handouts for everyone in class, 12 copies, (see link).

The new assignment given this week, Still Life or 20 New Photos, will be due the following week, 11/20.
